Champion's Corner
#21
Esalia brightened slightly and waved to both Sierra and Eira. "Hello! I'm Esalia of Carleeum, Dream's champion. It's very nice to meet you," Esa replied happily as she made her way over to sit beside Sierra.

Upon only entering recently, Esa happened to catch the tail end of the room's conversation. She personally drinks in social situations, since alcohol has little effect on merpeople. However, she would admit that it is funny when humans get drunk. Most become even more clumsy than she is. Makes Esa feel better about her clumsiness.

Aylis watched the exchange with muted interest. As a healer, he'd heard... well, if not "it all", then at least "it most" - this was nothing different for him. He just continued to drink his water, and smirk quietly at the little amusements. He had packed a lunch, but didn't find himself particularly hungry just now. His interest was primarily on Drake at present. Eye-candy of course, but there was also a professional curiosity. And maybe a touch of stupidity.

"I can't speak for everyone, but... I don't believe I've met some of you, although... "met" does not necessarily mean "know" in this case."

He left that vague enough to turn a couple of heads, and sipped some more water. As much as Aylis traveled, and as far, he'd pretty much seen, come into contact with, or ... well, stalked was such a nasty word ... most of the Champions here. Healing did, after all - go where it was needed. Or just snooped around, like he was wont to do.

"For those of you who don't know - I'm Aylis. The quiet one, you might say. I doubt any of those pranks would affect me, as my hair is already.. unique. It should also be noted that drinking to excess is an exceedingly bad idea."

At that last statement, he let his eyes settle pointedly on Trevor. Then they moved back to Drake.

(You guys got a move-on on this fast! I didn't mean to be absent for so long. XD I'll try and be a little more attentive. He's just a little snarky at present, it's not his usual attitude. XD)

The satyr rolls his eyes a little at some of the commentary, then, he hops up onto a table, probably kicking some things around in the process; but standing at his full, although, not very significant height. His green jacket, tugged on in, order to make himself look a little bit more presentable. Trevor flicks some ash, then butts the cigarette out on a horn.

"Right, right. Totally. What she said." he comments, in a bit of a half-pointed, half-dismissive manner, waving his hand slightly.

"Anyways, So, like, dudes. If we're making formal introductions. Let me, proudly, introduce the best looking guy here." he flashes a grin, then jerks his thumbs towards himself, and seeming surprisingly more sober.

"Me. That's right. Most of you know me, hell, I'd think all of you know me, except uh... well, maybe not whats-his-name, Sun Champion, guy. Whatever. Anyways, for those of you who forgot, 'cause well, that kinda happens, a lot, but only at the best parties. I'm Trevor, Champion of Revelry. Debauchery, Booze, Drugs, you name it, I'm your guy. While somma you types don't appreciate my idea of fun, I can GUARANTEE, you'll have fun. And if you remember, even better!" the satyr announces, raising his arms in vague gestures as he speaks, his gaze flits over towards Drake at some point, who just gets a knowing, dumb grin.

"Drake knows." Trevor comments, with a laugh, as he hops off the table. "Anyways. Yeah. This is gonna be GREAT, or I wasn't here."

Sierra rolled her eyes. It was her experience that revelry in excess often got people into trouble. Of course, she doubted she could convince Revelry's Champion of that. "I think I'll stay sober, thanks."

Fate's Champion liked to keep full control of her mental facilities. It came from being a sphinx. She needed her wits to serve Fate.

"How've you been, Aylis? I have to agree with you about drinking being a bad idea."

Aylis rolled his own eyes at Trevor, and blatantly... ignored him. He may have been cute, but showy and sparkly were not his cup of tea. Although he did have to give the guy props for the good-looking bit.

"I've been... busy." he said, canting his head in the direction of Fate's Champion. "Never a dull moment. Of course, there have been some setbacks, in terms of why I'm actually here right now. As well as.. personal setbacks." He bit off any commentary that might actually tell people what he was talking about. They didn't need to know unless they were part of said problem. And the sphinx was very definitely not.

"Irregardless.. I'm doing... as well as could be expected, given my current circumstances."

"In all seriousness, though, folks," The Revelry Champion went on, pulling free that pack of cigarettes again, and lighting up.

"You guys are a bit uptight. I mean, c'mon, live a little. This isn't some stodgy business meeting in the highest tower in one of the old cities. It's a party!" He goes on, flicking some ash as he offers a grin towards Fate's Champion, and a slight wink, eyes dancing around to the others, people were people, and it was his job to make sure those people stayed people, once in a while.

"It's a place to relax, let loose. My suggestions just help move that along, y'know? Cut the ties off, put on the go-go boots, and dance. Release chakra, energy, Ki, whatever, man. Relaaax. Revel in the moment. The now. Who cares about tomorrow? Or yesterday? What matters is now. Right now." He states, taking a long drag from his cigarette, and wandering over, unceremoniously hooking an arm around Drake, and totally invading personal space.

"Right, Drake? You of all people know what I mean. Fire. The fire that burns in ALL of us. The passion." he raises his hand to the sky, in a dramatic gesture, then clenches some invisible speck, releasing it after a moment with a gentle blow from his lips, as he blows out a smoke ring in the process. "We all need to relax. Let loose, once in a while. No need for this formality crap. Take life by reins and just pull it to a stop, tie it up, and let it go."

Eira couldn't help but snort in laughter, though she quickly supressed it. She couldn't manage to completely get rid of the smile, though. "I dare you to say that to Phoenix," she said, shaking her head. The Sun's Champion wasn't completely predictable to her, but she had a feeling he wouldn't like what was an obvious sign of disrespect, especially against someone so important in their world. His face would be worth a laugh or two, though. She would turn down any offering of alcohol or drugs. It was just too dangerous without one of her Guard with her to guard her back and swan skin. Sierra seemed to have similar ideas, and instead focused on the Healer.

Before she could help pry into Aylis's business about what had the poor boy so down (she owed him for helping Jordis and Sigdis keep the Guard healed, after all), Trevor demanded immediate attention again. She gave him a narrowed eyed look, not appreciating his distraction from what sounded reasonably important. But then he draped himself over Drake, and she gave a slight smile in amusement. Perhaps he could concentrate on getting Drake to behave at least somewhat cordial while she and Sierra teamed up on Aylis.

(Good thing he grabbed Drake instead of Eira. Apparently [this is news to me] swan maidens are rather...explosive...when strange males get in their personal space due to paranoia about their swan skins.)

Drake's ears twitch in irritation when Trevor touches him, but a grin slowly spreads across his face as Trevor talks.

"You're right, fire does burn, and not always metaphorically."

Smoke begins to rise from the satyr's oh-so stylish jacket.

(Sorry, I was trying to make Drake behave, but then you had to go and tell the cranky dragon to cut loose. At least Aylis is on hand.)

"You dare him to say what to me, my dear Lunar friend?"

Phoenix, the Sun Champion, steps into the room. Or perhaps sweeps would be a more accurate word. Phoenix would never do anything as pedestrian as merely step.

(not to heap woes on poor Trevor, but Eira set up his entrance far too well, sorry about the delays, its been a hectic week.)

Almost immediately after she becomes aware of Phoenix's presence, Eira stands a little straighter, becomes a little more watchful. Any relaxed air is gone, and unconsciously she is far more regal in her carriage. She gives the Sun Champion a polite nod in greeting and a small smile that says nothing. "At last you join us, my friend. And it would merely appear that Revelry is not familiar enough with you to know your name. I wonder why that is?"

(Darn it, I had just tried to go to bed! XD And Tore is officially going to have a fit but she can deal. This promises too much amusement...)

"Ah, Revelry."

Phoenix's permanent air of disdain deepens. He speaks to Eira, but loudly enough for others, including Trevor, to hear.

"I have been the Solar Champion since the dawn of time, reborn anew with each death like the sun itself, and yet he forgets me? I suppose I should know Revelry's Champions well enough by now to expect little better. To be fair, I will not remember him either when he has passed to dust and a new fool takes his place."

(Phoenix's immortality has given him a wee bit of a god complex. Sorry Trevor, I love you.)
